
Musings is a collection of 22 poems comprising the poet’s thoughts on numerous
aspects
of life and experiences, including birth, childhood, office work,
controversial issues such as foxhunting and royalty and many others. As an
overview, the poems are framed by the timeframe of conception through to middle
age, but there is a wandering path along the way.
The poems are considered to be fresh writing and written across a wide range of
subject matter. Many of the poems are ‘hard-
to disagree with the content or message portrayed.
Some of the poems, including ‘Beginnings’ could be described as surreal. For example, this poem describes the experiences of the foetus in the womb and the effect on birth on the offspring.
Others, such as ‘Cornered Red’, court controversy, as these criticise what is now an illegal act – foxhunting with hounds.
It is hoped that this collection inspires thought in the reader, and perhaps some of the poems stay to promote new thought. Read on
